Introduction to the Copic Classic
Share
The Copic Classic marker was the first marker created by .Too Corporation in 1987.
All 214 colors of the Copic Classic
This marker has a square shape and features two nibs: a Standard Broad and a Standard Fine. The Classic marker is available in 214 colors—more than the Copic Ciao (180) but fewer than the Copic Sketch (358). This marker is popular among both designers and illustrators and is available in sets of
12, 36 e 72.
Let's explore some of the key features and strengths of this marker.
Interchangeable Nibs
The best-selling Copic marker in Italy is the Copic Ciao, primarily because of its Super Brush nib. However, many people don’t know that the Copic Classic also has different nib options, such as the Classic Brush nib.

Versatile Strokes
Take the Standard Broad nib, for example—you can use the long, flat side for broad, even strokes or the upper edge for finer lines.
On the opposite end, the Classic marker has a Standard Fine nib, which is perfect for details.
Smooth Coloring
The Standard Broad nib enables smooth blending using the same layering technique as the Copic Sketch or Ciao. Since Copic ink is alcohol-based, the more layers you apply, the darker the color becomes.
Refillable
One of the best things about the Classic marker (and all Copic markers) is that they can be refilled using Copic Ink. The Copic Classic can be refilled up to five times with one bottle of Copic Ink. And if you want to create your own custom color, you can purchase an empty marker and fill it with any ink combination you like!
Airbrush System Compatibility
A standout feature of the Copic Classic is its compatibility with the Copic AirBrush System (ABS). Simply insert the Broad nib into the Air Grip, and you're ready to start airbrushing!
Now that you know more about the Copic Classic marker, let’s take a look at some artwork created using only Classic markers! Notice how you can create stunning sketches by embracing the natural streaks of the marker or achieve exquisite renderings by layering and adding mixed media like colored pencils or graphite.
